The advisory board of the USAID/GHRAP public/private sector partnership on HIV and AIDS is currently being re-organised to widen its scope in tackling the infection at work places.
According to a press release, several businesses have partnered with the United States Agency for International Development/ Guyana HIV/AIDS Reduc-tion and Prevention (USAID/GHARP) project in a landmark struggle to promote programmes such as the workplace prevention/anti-discrimination programme. These businesses have the capacity to offer leadership; to address issues frontally and to effectively monitor the programmes.
The advisory board to the partnership is currently being organised into the Guyana Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS. The release said the project was launched on May 30, 2006 and its objectives included establishing a sustainable coalition of private sector organisations engaged in HIV prevention and reduction activities.
