Brazilian woman hurt in hit and run

A Brazilian woman, Simone Moreira was last night battling for her life and so was Robin Lall, a resident of Albouystown after they were involved in accidents in Georgetown and on the Rupert Craig Highway respectively last evening.

Moreira, 28, of Regent Street, Georgetown was hit down at the corner of Light and Church streets last evening by a car which sped away. Reports are that the Brazilian national who has been living here for the past two years was on the southern side of Church Street, when a red car sped past and knocked her down. The driver did not stop and no one was able to catch up with him. Moreira was in a critical condition at the Georgetown Hospital last night. In the other accident, Lall, 35, of Independence Boulevard, Albouystown was said to be riding his motor cycle on the Turkeyen Public Road when he collided with a car. He suffered injuries to both of his legs and was in the Intensive Care Unit last night.
