Cara Hotels recently handed over $82,500 to the Animal Clinic and Shelter of the Guyana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA).
A release said that the handing over was part of its donations to institutions engaged in philanthropic work. During the year, 12 charities received a total of $1,662,900 derived from teams participating at Cara Hotels-sponsored Quiz Nights held on Wednesdays in the Bistro 176 pub and restaurant on Middle and Waterloo streets.
Cara executive Shaun McGrath handed over the cheque to GSPCA Honorary President Shaun McGrath and complimented the society on its work. The next quiz night is scheduled for January 9, 2008.
