The ruling People’s Progressive Party (PPP) in its New Year’s message has pledged to continue to be in the forefront of the national effort to ensure lasting solutions and strong responses to challenges confronting Guyanese.
The party said it also hopes that 2008 will bring all the things persons desire both for their personal good and for the good of the country.
It believes too that much progress which took place in the past year has better positioned the country for greater advancements under its rule.
“The PPP will remain true to the collective resolve of supporting efforts to chart a course for a more prosperous society and a stronger Guyana for all,” the statement said.
The statement urged that together as a nation, Guyana has come a far way despite obstacles and many have contributed positively to the development of the country and it is against this background that the PPP commended the efforts and contribution of all sectors in their successes so far.
“This should be a motivating factor for us to further strengthen democracy , deepen progress and expand economic stability and forge greater national unity,” the party urged.It expressed sincerest and heartiest wishes for the health and happiness of all Guyanese for 2008.
