Two years for Nismes break and enter, larceny

Magistrate Fazil Azeez sentenced a man who broke and entered a home and stole items worth over $60,000 to two years imprisonment when the man appeared at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Dellon Abrams called ‘Roach’, 20, of Nismes, West Bank Demerara (WBD) admitted to a charge of break and enter and larceny and was sentenced to two years imprisonment by the magistrate.

According to the facts presented by the prosecution, on November 26 last year at Nismes, Abrams broke and entered the dwelling of Desiree Allen and stole a Coby DVD player, a cellular phone, five curtains and $31,000 cash with a total value of $60,400, the property of Desiree Allen.

The matter was reported and following investigations, Abrams was arrested and charged.

After admitting to the offence yesterday, he was handed the two-year sentence.
