Police seeking minibus driver in Tenisha probe

The police are looking for a minibus driver who may have assisted the missing Tenisha Morgan of Friendship, East Coast Demerara, in catching transportation at the Berbice bus park on the day she was last seen.

The teen went missing two weeks ago and was heavily pregnant.

According to reports she had left her home for Georgetown to join relatives in Kitty.

In a statement last evening, the police said the force was appealing to the minibus driver who it believes assisted Morgan to help it by providing whatever information he has.

The police press release said the driver may contact the office of the Commissioner of Police through telephone numbers 225-2744 or 226 2487 -8 or the office of the Assistant Commissioner ‘Law Enforce-ment’ through telephone numbers 226-1326, 225-3650, 225-8196, 226-6978, 225-2227 or 225-7625.

Morgan’s disappearance had sparked concerns since it was alleged that wanted man Rondell ‘Fineman’ Rawlins had contacted the police on Friday warning that he would create mayhem if she was not returned safely.

The Joint Services has since declared that they did not have the teen in their possession. In a statement, the joint services said it wished to categorically say that none of its members: the Guyana Defence Force, the Guyana Police Force, the Guyana Prison Service and the Guyana Fire Service had Morgan of Friendship, Buxton, ECD, in its possession and persons who wish to suggest such are being extremely mischievous. Further, the Guyana Police Force is continuing investigations into the missing person report made with a view to locating Morgan, the statement said.

Morgan had reportedly collapsed at the Berbice bus park in pain and was whisked away in a taxi that public-spirited persons had solicited for her.

She never reached her relatives in Kitty and her mother Waple Morgan said that she had not heard from the teen since.
