The church should set up an international terrorist desk

Dear Editor,

Fr. Malcolm Rodrigues’s statement (SN 2008-02-11), “time to talk to the terrorists”, is much more earth shattering than Archimedes cry of Eureka, when he discovered a method to determine the purity of gold.

The Roman Catholic Church in Guyana will now have to prepare itself for visits by Emissaries representing the major international terrorist groups, who may wish to have dialogue with the esteemed Jesuit based on his perceived sympathy with their aims and objectives.

The church must now set up an international terrorist desk on the site of the destroyed Sacred Heart Church. Visas will have to be obtained from the United States to facilitate their visit, and a pledge to temporarily halt rendition and water boarding.

The Ministry of Trade and Tourism, Ministry of Public Works & Communication along with the Mayor and City Council will now have to implement Plan XYZ (cracking the VAT vaults) to obtain the necessary financing to transform GT into a Guyanese Dubai for the visits.

The Government of Guyana and the main opposition must intensify their verbal attacks against each other to coincide with the visit of the International Terrorist Groups.

Yours faithfully,

CS Vaughn MSM
