Govt, stakeholders must cooperate to resolve crime situation

The Guyana Islamic Trust (GIT) joins with all moral and law abiding citizens to condemn the murders at Bartica and urges the government and stakeholders to cooperate to address the situation.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the grieving families and friends of all the victims,” the GIT said in a press release. “Taking a life unjustly is an injustice to all mankind,” the GIT added.

The group said based on the recent spate of tragedies, it is now evident that the security situation in Guyana is rapidly deteriorating and as such there is a critical need to address it in the most thorough and comprehensive manner. The GIT is calling on the government, political parties, religious bodies, the security forces and all stakeholders to work together to find a resolution.
