IAC outraged at Bartica killings

The Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) is outraged that no sooner had the nation condemned the atrocity at Lusignan it is again faced with a similar killing at Bartica by a gang of terrorists.

In a press release, the IAC said it is “totally disgusted with this continuing wave of violence perpetrated by the centrally directed gang of savage terrorists who are engaging in an undeclared guerrilla war on the state.” The group said this terrorism has been ongoing since October 1992 and it escalated in December 1997 as the elections approached and eventually erupted Mash Day in 2002 with the prison break.

The IAC said it is saddened that innocent citizens continue to die at the hands of these murderers and is alarmed that the security forces appear to be no closer to apprehending the perpetrators. The criminals seem intent on accumulating money, arms and ammunition for more atrocious acts in their quest to intimidate, terrorize and spread fear, the group said. It said too it believes these terrorists are managed and directed by an intellectual and tactical leadership which possess military training and it calls on the authorities to identify, track down and remove from society the architects and authors of these crimes.

Further, the IAC urges citizens to support the recruitment efforts of the police and defence forces and to encourage youth of all ethnicities to join these institutions and others in order to boost security personnel. The IAC says it fully supports President Bharrat Jagdeo and implores him to bring to bear the full weight of the security forces on perpetrators by “drastic, resolute and condign action to wipe out this scourge and restore order” in the country.
