Police on Thursday afternoon recovered a quantity of ammunition and a hand grenade during searches at a house at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.
Police said in a statement released last evening that about 5 pm on Thursday persons cleaning the premises of an unfinished building at Better Hope South, ECD, found a container with 44 rounds .40 calibre ammunition which was handed over to the police.
The statement said police conducted further searches and found a hand grenade amid some bush on an adjoining lot. Investigations are in progress.
