Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton remanded two men accused of robbing several persons, when they appeared at the Georgetown Magis-trate’s Court on Wednesday.
Adrian Bishop, a minibus conductor of First Street, Campbellville and Bryan Grant appeared before the court on indictable charges of robbery under arms. Grant was also charged with discharging a firearm with intent. They were not required to plead to the charges.
It took the police a number of minutes to extract Bishop and Grant from the chute as the men refused to enter the court room. They insisted that their matters were being heard in another court.
It is alleged that on December 9 Bishop being armed with a dangerous weapon, a gun, robbed Orin Perry of one motor car valued $2.3 million. Meanwhile, Grant is accused of robbing Timothy King, at gunpoint, of one motorcycle valued $365,000 on February 24. They were both remanded to prison until May 27.
In the afternoon, Bishop appeared before Principle Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle to face two charges of robbery with aggravation. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
It is alleged that on April 12 and 21 Bishop robbed Lester Simon and Kenrick Lawson, respectively, of their motor cars at gunpoint.
Both Simon and Lawson related similar scenarios to the court in which they said Bishop hired them and being accompanied by another man he took them to different locations and robbed them of their vehicles at gunpoint. “I didn’t do any of these things,” Bishop told the court.
He was remanded and ordered to appear in Court Two on May 16.
