‘The world needs Mothering’

Dear Editor,

Dedicated to Red Thread
 The world needs Mothering.

It looks to the mother only when faltering
It becomes her fault, her age-long failing
After, after the Fathering of wars and their
      tools,
urgent space  ventures, just in time
vicariously fleeing the begotten  social
      order
to find through weather, if when and
      whether
bunkers are safer higher or lower
Budgeting is care giving; caring and
      mothering
cut and contriving
measuring, not under-stocking,
running out of rice, like the world in our
      time
Care giving is not sporting; it is working
Working long hours, shift into shift
Without shut-eye
laying  the base of surviving
Sitting with the sick in silence, listening
The low pulse, the barely breathing
-in our own native Space
new horrors in making, large disrespecting
killing and  sealing, raping and  icing
walking and falling, falling and bleeding
disgracing and lying.
\we and the world  needing mothering
all-round care-giving.

Yours faithfully,
Eusi Kwayana
