A 34-year-old woman is a patient of a city hospital after being raped and stabbed several times about the body at Mahaica yesterday.
The woman is said to be in a stable condition. According to reports the rape happened sometime around mid-day yesterday. She was also stabbed several times after the assault and sustained several wounds in her abdomen, private parts, back and hands. She was rushed to the GPH where she was admitted.
Police are investigating the incident.
