Inclusive governance key to lasting Independence – AFC

The Alliance For Change (AFC) says internal political conflicts are a real threat to Guyana’s development and it sees a more inclusive form of governance as imperative to developing the nation.

Though the country has not endured the wars and conflicts that have marred many young developing nations and it has attained 42 years of Independence in relative peace, internal conflict remains a real threat.
At the same time the party said, in a press release, that the country’s rich natural resources provide the potential for truly independent statehood and freedom from external control and pressures.
Therefore, the AFC urges citizens to honour its Independence by focusing on unity and togetherness and guard against divisive forces that distract from achieving lasting independence.
