Wang Jin, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Zhang Jungao, paid a visit and actively participated in one of the training sessions of the Guyana Wushu Association yesterday afternoon at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Jin was encouraged to visit the local association by Chinese youth volunteer Cao Aibing, who has been residing in Guyana and teaching physical education for close to a year.

Aibing has been affiliated with the Guyana Wushu Association for the past four months and has been teaching members of the association the art of Tai Chi and Broad Swords.

Jin and two of Jungao’s secretaries Huang Shang Shang and Sun Liping, were all treated to some of the many forms of martial arts by some local members of the association.

Jin and her entourage performed the Fan form with the Chinese Oriental Fan and then later joined with members of the local association in performing with the Tai Chi swords.

Afterwards, Jin said that she was very pleased to be invited by the President of the Guyana Wushu Association Dr. Stephen Monasingh after being encouraged by Aibing.

She added that the sport was very relaxing for the mind and body and that more Guyanese should become involved.
