Wolf Warriors destroys Boom Blast

Wolf Warriors destroyed Boom Blast by a massive 113 runs as the Guyana Softball League (GSL) organized Memorex Enterprise countrywide limited overs softball tournament continued at the Leonora ground last Sunday.

Batting first, Wolf Warriors scored 116 from their allotted 15 overs.

Amrit Jairam (77) led the way while Greg Rankin bagged 2-12 for Boom Blast.

In reply, Boom Blast was dismissed for 53 from 10 overs as Kristiandial Persaud bagged 5-7. He was supported by Davendra Khusial (2-4) and Ramesh Rambharose (2-18).

Shattazville XI defeated home team Leonora by three wickets.

Leonora made 107 in 15 overs with Ragunandan Narine taking 3-22 for Shattazville who replied with 111-7 in 14.3 overs thanks to an unbeaten 47 from Shannon McKoy.

Over at the Den Amstel ground, Superstreet XI gained a walkover from Cornelia Ida Invaders while Boom Blast defeated Den Amstel by seven wickets.

Den Amstel scored 114 all out in 14.3 overs with Parmanand Saifan capturing 5-20.
Boom Blast in reply reached 119-3 from eight overs with Ritchie Reddy contributing a sterling 57.

At Windsor Forest, Hyde Park XI got the better of Superstreet XI by 30 runs.

Hyde Park XI made 177-7 from 15 overs with Dhaniram Lalleram contributing 73 while Salim Khan claimed 2-23 for Superstreet.

A valiant effort was made by Superstreet but they fell for 147 to lose by 30 runs.

Hyde Park in their second match defeated Windsor Forest XI by six wickets.

Windsor Forest XI batted first and scored 114 to which Hyde Park replied with 115-4 from 10 overs.

Young Warriors XI defeated Avenash XI by four wickets.

Avenash XI batted first and scored 94-6 from 15 overs to which Young Warriors replied with 95-6 from nine overs.

In other results, Ruimzeight XI gained a walkover from Players XI at the Providence ground while

Skyline XI defeated Michael XI.

Skyline XI batting first, scored 130-7. That total proved too much for Michael XI, who fell for 97 from 14.2 overs.

Feroz XI gained walkovers from Grantville and Devils XI after the teams failed to make an appearance

Continuing at the Providence ground, Street Boys XI defeated Michael XI by a massive 113 runs.

Street Boys XI planted a target of 187 for victory losing six wickets in the process while Michael XI could only muster up a measly 73 in their reply.

Rockets XI defeated Silver Belt XI by four wickets.

Silver Belt XI batted first and scored 104-9 from 15 overs then Rockets XI made 110-6 in 13 overs in their reply.
