Wolf Warriors dispose of Preys

Wolf Warriors gained two victories when they defeated Rangers and La Jalousie in the Guyana Softball League (GSL) organized Memorex Enterprise Countrywide 15-Overs Softball Tournament on Sunday at the Den Amstel ground.

In Wolf Warriors first match they defeated Rangers by five wickets. Rangers batted first and scored 150-5 in 15 overs led by Sanath La Channa who was left unbeaten on 67 while Cristiandial Persaud bagged 3-11 for Wolf Warriors.

Azad Azeez struck a solitary 87 that included eight sixes to help his team to 156-5 from 11.2 overs in their reply.
La Jalousie Cricket Club was trashed by Wolf Warriors, who are still unbeaten in the tourney, by 62 runs.
Wolf Warriors batted first and scored 151 all out in 14.5 overs as Seenarine Persaud and Gobin Hansraj claimed 3-23 and 2-12 respectively for La Jalousie. However, La Jalousie were stopped in 12 overs, they could only get 89 runs on the board against the attack of Timur Mohamed and Cristiandial Persaud  who picked up 3-14 and 3-17 respectively.

La Jalousie defeated Den Amstel Sports Club by nine wickets in their second encounter. Den Amstel were given the opportunity to bat first and made 106-9 in their 15 overs but it proved too little a target as La Jalousie breezed to 107-1 in 10 overs.

Leonora Youths defeated Superstreet XI by 55 runs at their home ground. The home team took first strike and rattled up 166-7 in 15 overs then stoutly defended and halted Superstreet in 14 overs in which they made 119.
Still at the Leonora ground, Hyde Park XI thrashed Avenash XI by a massive 122 runs.

Hyde Park XI won the toss and batted, scoring a massive 182-9 in 15 overs with Yogeshwar Bachan top scoring with 54(7×6). Avenash XI was then bundled out for a paltry 68 in 9.3 overs when they attempted their reply.
Parika/Hydronie Sports Club inflicted a sound whipping on Shattazville by 62 runs to continue their unbeaten run in the competition. Hydronie SC batted first and scored 144-9 from their 15 overs then routed out Shattazville for 82 in 10 overs.

Over at the Providence ground, Rocket XI got a walkover from NCN XI while Feroz XI made light work of Rapid Fire by seven wickets.

Rapid Fire XI were inserted to bat after losing the toss and made a meagre 54 all out in 7.4 overs.  Roy Kissoon tore through the batting line up with 4 – 5 for Rapid Fire. They then raced to 54-3 in six overs for the victory.
Rapid Fire XI burned Skyline XI by 7 wickets in their second match. Skyline took first strike and made 122 all out in 14.3 overs but Rapid Fire were up to the challenge and got to 124-3 in 10 overs.

Banks DIH got the better of Skyline XI by 34 runs. They won the toss and batted scoring 152 all out in 14.1 overs then bowled out Skyline XI for 118 in 13 overs.

Street Boys XI defeated Farm Masjid by 21 runs. Farm Masjid’s 87 which they acquired in 12 overs was not good enough for a victory when they tried to chase the 108 Street Boys made as they batted first.

Untouchables XI destroyed Line Path XI by a massive 158 runs in the Berbice Zone of the Competition. Untouchables XI won the toss and batted amassing a mammoth 250-4 from 15 overs where Roy Jafferally clobbered twenty-one sixes (21×6) in his thunderous 138 he made in 41 balls. He was supported by David Looknauth with a solitary 77(11×6) and Vivian Da Silva with 39(5×6).

Line Path XI were broken down to 92 all out in 14.3 overs, compliments of Zahir Mookan and Sham Khan who claimed 5-16 and 4-19 respectively.
