Police to probe Tuschen robbery response

Following criticism by the victims of Tuesday night’s robbery at Tuschen regarding the slow police response, the Police Office of Professional Responsibility has launched an investigation, the results of which it promised to make public.

A press release from the police yesterday stated that the Force has taken cognizance of the concerns expressed by the residents and other residents in relation to the police response. A story on this was carried in yesterday’s edition of Stabroek News.

The release stated that the Police Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) has launched an investigation into this matter, the findings of which will be made public. On Tuesday evening, a heavily-armed gang robbed the Chaitram family of over $6M in cash and jewellery, firing shots and severely gun-butting Chaitram in the process.
