The GTM Essequibo branch and the Queenstown Deve-lopment Association last week Saturday launched their first ever ‘Day of Sports’ project at the company’s Anna Regina branch.
In his address at the opening Unit Manager Jerome Andrews said the company had donated $1M to promote the activities which could be enjoyed by the young and old. The games included soft ball cricket, soccer, circle tennis, volleyball and dominoes. Andrews said the project is a worthy step that will make a real difference in the communities. He said too the activity will be used to build social capital in GTM’s relationships with its customers and the communities on the Essequibo Coast, Wakenaam and Bartica.
