UNICEF donated a quantity of medical equipment valued $126M to boost services provided by the Ministry of Health.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the equipment includes infant scales, solar refrigerators, incubators and baby cots. They were presented to Minister Dr Leslie Ramsammy at the ministry’s Management Unit located in Kingston on Wednesday.
In response the minister said he was grateful for the donation which will be useful in managing the health of newborns. He said too the donation is a boost to the ministry’s current system.
