Representatives of the Institute of Business Education, School of the Nations and Marian Academy accepted the items during a simple ceremony and expressed gratitude to the ministry for its assistance.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jerrold Jacobs, acting head of the Crops and Livestock Department said this donation will help with the practical agricultural programme and stressed that it is always good to compliment practice with theory in order to understand the principles governing the subject.

Jacobs noted that agriculture is playing a major role in the development of the country and he urged the students to put the information in the Farmers Manual and items donated to good use.

Minster Robert Persaud stressed the importance of private schools getting involved in this effort of promoting practical agriculture in schools.
He told the students that officials from the ministry will be making period visits to their plots to ensure that they are going in the right direction and to introduce new techniques.
