Chanderpaul should have increased the scoring rate in the closing stages of the match

Dear Editor,
The outcome of the 2nd 1-day international between WI and Pakistan was very disappointing if you are a WI supporter.
While I understand the need for Chanderpaul and Sarwan to go slow and consolidate after the early fall of wickets and good bowling, this added pressure on the other batsmen.
At the closing stages of the match, ie after getting to 100 and over number 46 onwards, Chanderpaul should have taken the initiative and responsibility of increasing the scoring rate.
He should not have allowed the tail-enders to face so many deliveries. I remember defending Chanderpaul after letters accused him of being selfish. I still do not think he is selfish; he just needs to take more chances at the end stages. I do hope that he keeps up the excellent form.
Yours faithfully,
