Guinness Greatest of de Street…

On Wednesday evening a large crowd witnessed the final eight matches of the second round of the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Guinness `Greatest of de Street’ round robin knockout football tournament at the Albouystown Basketball Court.

Five of the eight encounters were won by 2–0 or 2–1 margins.
In the first encounter, Meadow Brook Square lost to Queen Street Tiger Bay 1–2 with Jamal Blackman and Keoma Gravesande’s fourth and ninth minute goals for Queen Street Tiger Bay proving too much for Oswald Cornette’s 13th minute goal.

Albert Street, Alberttown  fell 0–2 to East La Penitience whose goals came from  Trevor Griffith and Deon Layne in the ninth and 12th minutes respectively.

North Last Entrance conquered Tucville Big Yard 2–0 with Travis Grant and Troy Kellman the successful marksmen for North scoring in the 11th and 14th minutes respectively.
Andy Duke in the fourth and Shaka Jones in the ninth and 11th minutes for East Front Road were just what East needed to shut down their Charlotte Street opposition who could not manage a goal in their encounter while Kitty pulled off a come-from-behind win against Back Circle.

Back Circle drew first blood as early as the fifth minute when Devon Harris found an opening.
But Wendell St. Hill scored the equalizer in the 13th minute before teammate Gordon Henry delivered the final blow two minutes later for the victory.

Broad Street A also pulled off a come-from-behind victory against West Back Road, thanks to the sixth and 13th minutes goals from Leroy Robinson and Troy Cadogan.
West Back Road’s goal came from Eusi Phillips in the fifth minute.
Plaisance cracked Bent Street 1–0 in the first of two contested feature match-ups with Rawle Gittens breaking the ice in the fifth minute.

And Albouystown was unable to record a victory on their turf against Norton Street, Werk-en-Rust who won thanks to a fourth minute goal from Dirk Archer.
