19th Annual Kashif and Shanghai Tournament preparations…

Schools across the country will now be able to witness what is promised to be two of four exhilarating quarter-final showdowns on Christmas evening at the Providence National Stadium in the 19th annual Kashif and Shanghai Knockout Football Tour-nament.

Yesterday, Chief Execut-ive Officer of Bakewell Naeem Nasir presented to the Ministry of Education, six thousand tickets valued over six million dollars ($6,000,000) that are to be distributed to schools countrywide for their attendance of the Christmas Day double header.

The winners of Alpha United/ Cougars, Milerock/ Pele clashes, Western Tigers/ Blue Berry Hill and GDF /Bakewell Buxton clashes are the teams that will be contented to make it to the semi-final round.

Present to receive the donation was Assistant Chief Education Officer of the Ministry of Education Melcita Bovell and on behalf of the MOE she thanked the well recognized business entity.

“The Ministry of Education welcomes partners who offer support in trying to spread sports across the nation and on behalf of the Ministry of Education and the Chief Education Officer, we are very grateful to come onboard” Bovell stated.

She further implied that she believes getting youths involved in sports changes their lives and that the Ministry has been on a venture in trying to get youths involved in sports nationwide.

Added to that she floated that children need to have a good role model to get into sport and the more exposure to sports will get them involved.

After the presentation of entrance passes to Bovell, Nasir said that he was proud on behalf of his organization to present the Ministry with the tickets.

“After Christmas morning when the children have un-wrapped their gifts they can come to the Stadium to enjoy the football as an additional Christmas present” Nasir said.

Also present at the simple presentation ceremony was Director and Co-Director of the Kashif and Shanghai organization Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major and Kashif Mohammed.
