Young Achievers and Stewartville recorded identical 2-0 wins over Beavers and Meten-Meer-Zorg respectively when the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) West Side Cup Easter round robin competition continued at the Den Amstel ground on Friday evening.
Jason Critchlow recorded a double in the first match of the double-header to catapult Young Achievers to victory scoring in the 34th and 75th minutes.
For Stewartville, Keon Cummings scored in the 34th minute while Ryan Blake found the back of the net five minutes later to shut out Meter-Meer-Zorg’s chances of a comeback.
Each team gained three points for the win.
Play in the competition continued last evening at the same venue with Stewartville opposing Parika from 8pm while Wales and Young Achievers were down to clash at 6pm. (KB)
