Muzik Media, a popular music and entertainment television station out of New Jersey USA, and Guymine.com will partner with the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation to bring the 19th annual football tourney to millions world wide via the internet.

This was disclosed at a press conference held at the Raddison Suites in Georgetown yesterday by the organisation and representatives of the two bodies.

According to Whiddon Sibdhannie, the webmaster for Guymine.com, the final will be recorded on High Definition (HD) and then broadcast through his website on a delayed system.

This will be done using a seven-camera shoot with Jamaica’s Entertainment Television Station HYPE TV being responsible for the production.

Sibdhannie said that given the fact that it was the first time this will be attempted they wanted the best possible production.

As such, he linked up with Muzik Media whom they have worked with on several other projects to make it a reality.

Dexter Pembroke, the driving force being the New Jersey-based Entertainment Channel, said that working to bring one of the biggest sporting events in Guyana to the world at large was a privilege and they are looking forward for January 1, 2009.

Meanwhile, HYPE TV’s Production Manager Gareth Daly said that they were more than pleased to work on bringing the Kashif and Shanghai final to the world at large adding that he was more so impressed with the venue for the final, the National Stadium at Providence, which would go hand in hand with the type of production that they were prepared to put out.

The team recently worked on the broadcast of the Jamaica versus Canada football match.

They have also been responsible for the production for several big events, such as Soca sensation Machel Montano and Dancehall artiste Buju Banton Shows which were held at the Madison Square Garden in New York along with several other world class events.

Co-Director the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation, Kashif Muhammad, said he was very happy that millions of people world wide would be able to see the event which has also helped to promote the footballers on a whole.

He mentioned national striker Gregory “Jackie Chan” Richardson, who has excelled in the CONCACAF Champions League  where he enjoyed a successful tournament playing for his Trinidadian club Joe Public.

“We all saw Gregory Richardson playing on the big stage. We saw him scoring a hat-trick in one match and then scoring a few more in some others, and because of this, several clubs who saw him on TV in action all want him, but next year he will be heading to France to play with one of the premier clubs over there, so I’m very happy since the players will be given a chance to be seen just like Richardson,” Muhammad said.

This is the sixth year Guymine.com is assisting with sponsoring the event and Sibdhannie said that this initiative will be added to their regular sponsorship.

His website was created in 2002 and advocates events held in Linden and also the people in the community.

He said he was very disappointed that the final had moved from Linden since it would have been great for the world to see what the town has too offer.

None-the-less he said he was very happy that it was also being held at Guyana’s World class facility which will show progress in the country.

The Kashif and Shanghai tournament will begin on December 14 with a double header at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
