GCA to host T20 practice games

An array of stars present and future will be on show tonight when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) holds the first of two Twenty20 practice games at the Banks DIH ground commencing at 6 pm each day.

National T20 openers and Stanford Superstars Travis Dowlin and Lennox Cush along with the fast rising all rounder Christopher Barnwell, West Indies ODI player Leon Johnson, Rayon Griffith, Deon Ferrier and Ravi Sarwan are all slated to be on show. The matches are being used by the GCA as trial games to select their team to contest the DJ Stress Twenty20 Tournament which is scheduled to be held on Friday, 1st May at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

The Georgetown Yellows will be captained by Johnson while the opposing team the Georgetown Blues will be led by Dowlin and all players are required to be at the venue by 5 pm, dressed in  dark-coloured track pants and a jersey with the colour of their team.

Admission to the ground will be $100 and there will be a well stocked Banks DIH bar and hot fried fish on sale

Georgetown Blues from: Travis Dowlin (Captain), Shemroy Barrington, Steven Jacobs, Ravi Sarwan, Lennox Cush, Trevon Griffith, Stephen Alves, Wasim Haslim, Derwin Christian, Sauid Drepaul, Trevor Henry, Jason Benn, Trevon Garraway, Andre Stoll and Joseph Perry.
