Bandit robs MFK manager

A knife-wielding bandit last evening robbed the manager of MFK Trading of her handbag which contained $600, a number of personal documents and keys.

A shaken and weeping Bibi Khan told Stabroek News that the man, who was dressed in black, “collared the guard” who was standing outside the Hadfield Street store and marched him into the store, where he pounced on her, grabbed her handbag and fled.

The woman said that she had just completed her end-of-day tasks and was shutting down the computer system when the robbery occurred.  “This man just come in the store with the guard and a long knife and collect me bag and run away,” the woman said with tears rolling down her cheeks.

She said she and a male employee were the only ones left in the building as all the other staff had gone home. She said the male employee should have closed the grill door to avoid such an occurrence.

The guard said he had just reported for duty and was standing outside the store when the man walked up and grabbed his shirt collar.

“I tek a while to realise is a robbery,” the guard said. “He put the knife behind me neck and push me to the glass door… I try to brace the door but I push it in and fall in like… The man then just grab the bag and run away at the back.”  The manager was in the bottom flat of the building. She said she is very disturbed that all her personal documents have been stolen along with the keys to her home, wardrobe and even some for the store.

The employees were reporting the matter at the Brickdam Police Station when Stabroek News left them last evening.
