Police must be congratulated for making Caribbean annual commissioners’ conference a success

Dear Editor,

The Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police Annual Conference began yesterday at the Pegasus Hotel.  The opening ceremony was one of splendour and the local organising committee for this conference must be congratulated.  I felt proud to be Guyanese.

The hospitality I am informed was of the highest quality, and the visiting commissioners were very impressed with Guyana’s effort, though only asked to host this conference last October after another territory was unable to host this year’s conference.

It is not often that the Guyana Police Force receives praise, but this is timely and well deserved.  I am confident that when the visiting commissioners return to their respective jurisdictions, they will attest to Guyana’s example of a successful conference.

Guyana’s Commissioner of Police must feel proud that the hard work has paid off.  Kudos to the Guyana Police Force and all those who contributed to making this event a success.  It is time others are reminded of the beauty and potential of our dear land of Guyana.

Yours faithfully,
Dawn A Holder
