Williams of Fyrish Village would have celebrated her 13th birthday on Sunday, her aunt Hernstine told Stabroek News and she said they were going for a walk when tragedy struck.
She related that the young girl had left before her on foot and she followed on her bicycle shortly after. While on the public road, shortly after she had parked her bicycle, the woman said she was waiting for her niece when she heard of the accident. She did not for one minute think her niece was involved but was later given the sad news.

Mohamed on the other hand was at a workshop having his motor vehicle fixed when his friend, Nathaniel Ramoutar, who was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, drove up and he went out to speak to him. Ramoutar told Stabroek News that he was in a snackette which is next door to the workshop and he saw his friend Mohamed. He said Williams was also at the snackette. According to Ramoutar, Mohamed came out on the roadway and was speaking to him through the front left window and within a minute the accident happened.

“Wha happen deh?” he said Salim asked when the green car swerved out of control and struck Williams before hitting the back of his vehicle. After his car was struck it spun out of control and Mohamed was hit while Ramoutar said he was saved by his seat belt. He noted that his 18-month-old daughter is usually in the car with him and he lamented what could have been the outcome had she been in the vehicle at that time.

After Mohamed was hit his body was pitched onto his parked Four Runner vehicle that was being fixed at the workshop.
Meanwhile, Mohamed’s son, Wazir Mohamed said he heard that when his father was picked up he was crying out over pain in his feet and he actually spoke to a few persons before he died. The man lamented that no one from the vehicle that caused the accident visited their home to offer an “apology or sympathy. We only hear that dem deh out deh making story with people”.  The man said he is not focusing on those comments but after his father is buried he would be taking a “deeper look at the matter.”
Stabroek News understands that the driver of the Lancer is expected to be charged shortly.
