Guyana has hidden talent

Dear Editor,
As much as we are at a great disadvantage, I am always in awe learning that the El Dorado sports ambassadors are truly keeping in competition even when the odds are against us.

It was indeed impressive seeing WRHM 7’s broadcast over the past two weekends on meetings in New York and the Prefontaine Classic where medallists from the Beijing 2008 Olympics were given a run for their money and many upset. I predict that we will witness major upsets at the World Track and Field Championships 2009 in Germany this August and I am pleading with the above-mentioned channel to broadcast of this global event. As the run-up to those games, I am really looking forward to the broadcast of the American trials in late June.

I read that Guyana’s Sachia Vickery has landed a big contract in the USA with Lagardere-Unlimited. Isn’t it great news that Guyana is seen as having potential for the global tennis arena?

Who would dare argue with me when I say that Guyana possesses hidden talent?
Yours faithfully,
T. Pemberton
