A woman is now dead after she was struck by a branch from a tree during a rain storm. Dead is 24-year-old Anita Williams of Baramita, North West District.
According to the police press release, Williams and her husband were walking along a trail leading out of the Baramita backdam area during a period of heavy rainfall and high winds when a branch broke off from a tree and struck her about her body. She was subsequently taken to the Baramita Health Centre, where she was pronounced DOA.
Police are investigating the matter.
