Men stabbed in separate attacks

A 37-year-old man is now a patient at the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital after suffering a stab wound to his hand early yesterday morning.

According to reports, Marlon Oselmo of Lot 5 Sparendaam Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara was at the time visiting one of the mothers of his children when he was confronted by another.

The alleged perpetrator of the incident called him out of the house he was visiting and while the two walked away together, he was stabbed during an argument around 3:15 am.

When this newspaper visited the man at the hospital yesterday, he was in a stable condition as he sat on his bed and chatted with relatives. While he declined to speak when approached for a comment, one of his relatives told Stabroek News that the injured man was ok, stating that he was looking  forward to being discharged from the medical institution.

Meanwhile, 41-year-old Ralston Chance of Lot 168 James Street, Albouystown was also stabbed during the early hours yesterday morning.

This newspaper understands that Chance was in the vicinity of Owen Street, Kitty around 5:30 yesterday morning when he was confronted by a group of men.
The men reportedly inflicted injuries on Chance including a stab wound to the back. He is said to be in a stable condition in the Male Open Ward of the GPHC.

It is unclear whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incidents.
