Peacemaker stabbed twice by relative

A 54-year-old man, in an attempt to make peace in a dispute, was stabbed twice by a relative on Saturday night.

Yogsaran Ganesh of Lot 1 Bel Air, Georgetown was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital with stab wounds to the neck and head. He was admitted to the Male Surgical Ward where he remained in stable condition up to yesterday afternoon.

Ganesh’s relative was allegedly fighting with his girlfriend when the man intervened hoping to calm the couple down. This reportedly further enraged the relative who turned on him and stabbed him twice.

Stabroek News was unable to speak to Ganesh yesterday afternoon. The man’s relative, according to reports, had been taken into police custody on Saturday but was later released.
