French Guiana win Four Nation Goodwill Series

– Guyana play to next draw
French Guiana defeated hosts Suriname in the final match of the Four Nation Goodwill Series to claim the title while Guyana played to a draw against Netherlands Antilles in the third of their three matches, finishing third in the competition.

French Guiana defeated Suriname 2 – 1 to finish on seven points (2W-1D), Suriname on four points (1W-1D-1L), Guyana on three points (3D) and the Netherlands on 1 point (1D-2L).

Guyana’s national under-15 squad drew with Netherlands Antillies 1-1 as Netherlands scored first in the second half and Guyana responded immediately afterwards  with a Sherwin Lewis goal.

According to reports from Suriname Guyana played excellently but their players had a number of injuries which may have contributed to them not emerging victorious.
The starting lineup for Guyana in their final match was Jamal Booker (GK), Jermain Bamfield, Dickvan Vancooten, Clive Welcome, Shawn Ceasar, Mark Walton, Rolex Martin, Pernel Schultz, Sherwin Lewis, Domini Garnett and Aloysius Edwards.
