Richard Ramdeen slammed a timely 95 for Young Warriors against Bermine in their sixth round match in the Berbice Zone of the Neal & Massy National First Division 40-over cricket competition on Sunday but it was not enough to stop Bermine that beat the defending champions by 5 wickets.

When Bermine replied, Anthony De Andrade slammed 54 (7×4) before his team reached 172-5 from 37.4 overs. He was supported by Guyana under-19 allrounder Devon Clements who was left unbeaten on 38 and former Berbice under-19 batsman Julian Moore (27 not out).

National player cricketer Esaun Crandon’s 70 (7×4, 4×6) and former Berbice opening batsman Renwick Batson’s 60 (5×4, x6) shared a 122-run second wicket stand to see Rose Hall Town Windies Sports Bar (RHTWSB) to an easy 6-wicket win over Port Mourant.

Port Mourant (PM) made 159 with former West Indies youth batsman Roopnarine Ramgobin making 41. In reply RHTWSB reached 160-4 in 27.4 overs.

The other player to score a half century was Michael Newland whose 51 (7×4, 1×6) helped Police to a modest 153 in 36.4 overs against West Berbice (154-3) who in reply cruised to an easy 7 wicket win in 25.2 with their openers Colin Duke (46) and Arthley Bailey (41) putting on 98 in 8 overs for the opening stand.

Meanwhile Scottsburg United was granted a walk over from Albion community Centre.
