An additional five smaller tanks to store processed cassava and five barrels of diesel were also dispatched.

A press statement from the Ministry said yesterday that government reached out to farmers as a result of the dry spell and had approved $49M to aid affected hinterland communities.

It said too that government will continue to work with farmers and other stakeholders to ensure that there are adequate food supplies in hinterland regions.
