A security guard was remanded to prison until December 15th, 2009 when he appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Christianburg Magis-trate’s Court yesterday.
Thirty-eight-year-old Wendell Pereira of 34 Blue Berry Hill, Wismar, Linden was at the time facing the indictable charge of robbery. It was alleged that on Friday, 16th October, 2009 Pereira robbed Edgar Fraser of $3,000.
The police prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that Pereira was a familiar face in the prison for similar offences and that he was likely to commit a similar crime if he was sent on bail. He begged for the mercy of the magistrate saying that he was falsely accused and his victim was drunk at the time
