Geddes Grant introduces Cruiser insecticide

Geddes Grant has introduced Cruiser, a seed treatment insecticide for use in the rice industry.

In a press release the company said Cruiser is manufactured by Syngenta. It is a second-generation, broad-spectrum neonicotinoid insecticide that activates paddy, allowing the young plants to grow vigorously which results in increased yield and quality of paddy. It has been proven to control a broad range of sucking, chewing and soil-dwelling pests as well as provide rapid and uniform emergence.

The benefits of using Cruiser include early season pet protection for up to 30 days; vigorous seedlings that grow through deep flood, deep root system and complete protection from storage pests. It also diminishes the need to spray for water weevils and leaf miner. “All this results in unparalleled boost of vigorous, deep rooted and healthy plants,” the release said. Cruiser will also allow farmers to reduce costs by reducing seed rate to as low as 100lbs per acre and getting a minimum of 20 to 30% yield increase.

There will be no need to spray for water weevils and there will be no damage when paddy is stored for long periods.
