Three held after bread van robbed

Three men were arrested by police at Berbice during a robbery investigation on Friday night shortly after a Bakewell Bakery driver was held at gunpoint and stripped of cash.

Roy Balgobin, a driver/salesman with the Bakewell company was making a delivery at Whim, Corentyne at around 7 pm when he was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun. He was held at gunpoint and relieved of $40,000.

According to a police release, police in the area responded promptly to the report and searched a house at Liverpool, Corentyne during the investigations. The police found three men at the home and five kilogrammes of marijuana seeds. The men were arrested and investigations are ongoing.
