According to a press release, Sister Sheila George OSU and Sister Beatrice Fernandes OSU celebrated at a mass officiated by Reverend Father Paul Martin SJ, along with their families, friends, benefactors, parishioners and past pupils of the St Rose’s High and the St Ann’s Primary schools. The church choir sung hymns along with the girls at the St Ann’s Orphanage of which Sister Beatrice is the director.

Sister Brenda Ferreira OSU lauded George and Fernandes’s service as they solemnly renewed their vows at the foot of the altar. A reception was held at the Ursuline Convent following the service.

Additionally, the release said on July 11 a group of past pupils from St Rose’s High paid an 11-day visit to the city to celebrate 50 years since their graduation. To commemorate the occasion they presented a lap top computer to the Ursuline nuns in Georgetown. The students were Delores Cheeks, Judy (Da Cambra) McKinstry, Dianne DeFreitas, Marie (Forte) Cholmondeley, Margaret (Man-Son-Hing) Levy, Joy Seth, Lorna (Willis) Lawrence and Joy (Crum Ewing) Rodrigues. Former classmates who reside in Canada and the UK also contributed towards the gift. The students also attended the mass for George and Fernandes.
