Seepersaud, who resides in the United States of America, and Thomas who lives in Toronto, Canada, returned home to participate in the Ministry of Health/Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport five stage cycle event.
According to a press relase from the Flying Ace Cycle Club, the two cyclists brought back some equipment to the value of $US15000.
The equipment was then handed over to Rohan Persaud, Wazim Hasnoo and Neil Reece.
Meanwhile, a special presentation was made to Nashane Jaundoo of Skeldon Linepath Secondary School for his outstanding performance at this year’s National Schools Track and Field, Cycling and Swimming Championships which was held at the Albion Community Development Ground.
At that championships Jaundoo won the 5000m and placed second in the 1500m cycling events. As a result he received a quantity of cycling gear from Randolph Roberts coach of the Flying Ace Cycle Club. Jaundoo was the recipient of a pair of tyres valued at $6000, a pair of STI valued at $25,000 and a riding suit valued at $10,000.
Jaundoo, praised coach Roberts as one of the better coaches in the country and sought to encourage young cyclists from the area, both male and female, to get involved in competitive cycling by joining the Flying Ace Cycle Club.
