Gov’t to meet travel costs of Guyanese returning from Haiti

The Guyana government announced yesterday that it is prepared to meet the travel costs of all Guyanese nationals in Haiti who are desirous of returning to Guyana in the wake of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit that country  last Tuesday with  disastrous consequences.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a release that in this regard, contact should be made with Elisabeth Harper or Keishanna Sullivan at the ministry’s Office of the Director General via telephone numbers 225-7404 or 226-2632.

Persons may also contact Esther Griffith or Rovina Deodat at the Protocol and Consular Affairs Department on telephone number 226-9070, the release added.
