Egypt maintain perfect record with 2-0 win over Benin

BENGUELA, Angola, (Reuters) – Six-times champions  Egypt maintained their perfect record at the African Nations Cup  when they beat Benin 2-0 in their final Group C game yesterday.

Egypt, gunning for an unprecedented third title in a row,  had already secured top spot in the group after victories over  Nigeria and Mozambique.

Nigeria went through with a 3-0 win over Mozambique who were  sent packing along with Benin.

Defender Ahmed Al Muhammadi opened the scoring for Egypt  with a long-range cross that caught Yoann Djidonou off guard and  Emad Motaeb doubled the tally on 23 minutes, slotting home after  a superb save by the Benin keeper.
