Musician remanded over armed robbery

A 24-year-old musician was remanded to prison when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton charged with robbery under arms yesterday.

Lennox Wayne

Lennox Wayne of 613 East Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to robbing Bibi Hassan, while being armed with a gun, of two passports, a Motorola cell phone, a national identification card and a handbag, a total value of $75,000. An unrepresented Wayne asked for bail but Police Prosecutor, Inspector Joel Ricknauth objected telling the court that the address Wayne had given police differed from the one that he had given in court.

The magistrate denied Wayne’s bail application. He is to return to court on April 21 for trial.
