He pleaded not guilty to the charges when Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson read them to him.
He denied that between January 6 and February 7 this year he indecently assaulted the two girls.
The matter was called to the magistrate’s bench and a lengthy discussion ensued and then the magistrate refused bail for Evans.
He is scheduled to make another court appearance on March 2.
