The Windward Islands in their second innings, were dismissed for 266 in 74.4 overs chasing 320 for victory as the Leewards secured their first win of the season.

The Windwards resumed on their overnight score of 128 – 4 with Andre Fletcher and nightwatchman Nelon Pascal on 46 and 11 respectively and Pascal added just one more run to his score of 11 before he became the first of Omari Banks’ four wickets yesterday.

Banks, who had picked up two wickets the previous day, ended with 6-113 for a match haul of 13-154.

After Pascal’s dismissal, Fletcher and Donwell Hector added 40 runs for the sixth wicket before Banks trapped Hector leg before wicket for 15.

Rawl Lewis and Shane Shillingford both fell cheaply while Fletcher’s 142 ball innings of 80 that included six fours and a six ended when he was caught by Lionel Baker at fine leg off Banks. The Leewards, though, were held up by an entertaining last wicket stand of 71 between   Kenroy Peters and Deighton Butler, the highest of the Windwards’ innings. Peters played one of the most explosive innings of the match clobbering eight fours and two sixes on his way to a 32-ball half century.  His quickfire innings ended when Wilden Cornwall got a successful lbw decision against him to end the match.
