Mackenzie man remanded for alleged marijuana trafficking

Israel Brummell, 20, of 282 Redwood Crescent, Mackenzie was remanded on Tuesday for allegedly trafficking in narcotics.

Brummell pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when he appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Christianburg Magistrates’ Court. It is alleged that on Saturday April 10, 2010 at Coomacka Mines, Brummell had in his possession 115 grammes of cannabis.

Attorney-at-law James Bond appeared for Brummell but was unsuccessful in securing bail. The next hearing in the case is fixed for April 27.
