Driver acquitted in Linden Highway fatality case

Police ranks at Linden failed to produce sufficient evidence against David Ramdass, a driver who faced a charge of causing death by dangerous driving following an accident on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway in 2006.

Magistrate Ann McLennan upheld a no-case submission made on behalf of Ramdass, of 199 Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, at the Christianburg Magistrates’ Court.

It was alleged that on February 4, 2006, Ramdass caused the death of Christopher Vandoimen, when he drove motor lorry GDD 5867 on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway in a manner dangerous to the public.
