The female Jaguars’ score of 8-0 has been the highlight of some memorable performances by sportswomen of the Caribbean within the past few weeks.
Our female W/Indies team is also at present in the semifinals of the Twenty/20 female WC with one of the players scoring the only century in this format of the game, and also the fastest. One only hopes that these standout performances by our female athletes are sufficiently appreciated and further promoted by our politicians and sports’ leaders.
At a time when our local male football team and regional cricket team are languishing in the doldrums, the performances of our females are a source of pride and inspiration.
Best of luck is extended to our female Jaguars for their final match against Trinidad while similar sentiments are extended to our female West Indies team as they attempt to bring glory to our region.
